Perfect! The margarita was delicious. The shrimp tacos were perfect and that salsa morita was addicting (perfect spice). Our waitress was absolutely lovely. I came back twice during my stay.
I had the chicken burrito bowl for lunch. The food was fresh and well seasoned. (They use ground chicken and fry it on the grill.) The portion size was quite large. Too large for me to finish but I’m sure many people could. The service was very good and the atmosphere was my style (perfect for people watching). I will definitely return but I’ll substitute the ground chicken for shrimp if they’ll do that. I returned today (4 months later) and had the fried chicken sandwich. Huge, crunchy, hot, great toppings and delicious!
Food good and plentiful. Fajitas pastor excellent served with 5 different salsas, grilled jalapeno, grilled onion and fresh lime. Cafe and bar, open to street, generous use of fans. Homemade chips so so (greasy).
The food was ok. The service was good. The prices definitely went way up. Same price as in USA and Canada. Ordered the beast breakfast with French toast, omelettes and some Mexican breakfast
Amazing vegetarian options. The mushroom ceviche was mind blowing. Our server was Elizabeth and she was warm and kind and helpful and gave great recommendations. We also had he mushroom tacos and they were divine, too. We went for a late dinner and loved the casual-yet-clean and kitschy (in a great way) vibe. Portions are generous. We paid about $250mxn per dish.
My first hangover breakfast of our PV vacay was here. We chose it by chance and scored! ATMOSPHERE: The open-air joint has sidewalk tables in addition to the indoor seats. MENU: Mexican & American breakfast, salads, sandwiches, soup, pasta, tacos, burgers, coffees, smoothies, malts, ice cream, full bar. FOOD: House Bread with Salsa & Pico De Gallo What a waste of food as they brought this to every table, which we didn't even touch. Too heavy. Denver Omelette The omelette sure tasted good with my gurgling stomach. The breakfast potatoes were slightly salty and not as seared as I like. It also came with two hotcakes which were good. What a steal! Flamenco Eggs My spouse was wanting eggs benedict but mistakenly ordered this. He brought it to our server's attention admitting the mistake, and they removed it from our bill even though we were willing to pay. Thanks! Eggs Benedict My spouse's correct dish. The hollandaise sauce was orange in color due to the addition of chilis, but he said the English muffin wasn't toasted and got soggy. Pass. SERVICE: It's seat yourself, and it took a little over 5 minutes for a greeting even though they weren't busy. Another table ended up leaving because of no greeting, and only then did a male server run over to no avail. Our female server was smiley and friendly, but the male server was stoic but meant well. He was the lucky recipient of our order mistake, and even came over to us to ask why we turned away the flamenco eggs because it's good, and thanked us for the mistake because he got to eat it. Okay... OVERALL: Stick to the breakfast basics like omelettes, plain old eggs, and Mexican fare.
We visited Café San Ángel on Wednesday and loved it so much that we came back again on Thursday. The food is delicious and truly authentic. On our first visit we had the shrimp fajitas, and on the second day we tried the Arroz Ibiza. Both dishes were absolutely spectacular. We were served by Elizabeth, who was wonderful. Five stars for her and for the restaurant.
Fantastic chilaquiles, with the most amazing carne asada on top I've had in a very long time! Highly recommended! Give it a try. Horchata and Jamaica were also delicious
